Some changes.

So, I've made a little change to the colour scheme, as I couldn't exactly figure out what colour my tertiary one actually was. I changed it to scorched brown, and I must say, it does look rather good. Both in theory and reality.

As you can see, ol' hallows eve isn't the best time for taking pictures, as it tends to get dark very quickly, and my camera hates darkness, inside or out.

The colour scheme is pretty simple; Codex Grey as the primary cloth colour, a mix of 1:1 Codex Grey and Chaos Black as the darker cloth colour, with a second layer of 1½:1 mix of Codex Grey to chaos black.

The metal armour is just a solid coat of Scorched Brown, and the backpack is an undercoat of Scorched Brown, followed by a layer of Snakebite Leather. For the eyes I did a layer of Enchanted Blue over a layer of Regal Blue.

For the gold, I have so far put down a layer of Shining Gold, but I am planning to put a wash of Ogryn Flesh over that, and then drybrush it with Shining Gold, then do a final highlight of Mithril Silver. I don't currently know how I'm going to paint the Heavy Stubber and the Las Rifles, but I do have a vague idea of how I'm going to paint the base. No spoilers ;).

Any metal that I'll have to paint will be a coat of Boltgun Metal, then a highlight of Mithril Silver, then a wash of Badab Black. You might be thinking: "What on earth? A highlight, THEN a wash? What is he doing?", but, believe me, it looks very realistic. Like a dull shine on old metal.

So, that's all for today, but, coming up, a look at my space marines and my dark eldar, and my thoughts on the new necrons. So, goodbye for now, but I will be back.
Oh, and, happy halloween.

Colour Scheme.

Well, I've sprayed the heavy stubber today, and it's sitting in my room drying right now. I've got a lot of homework to do today, with it being half term and all that, so it won't be painted untill, say, Sunday? Oh well. To keep you lot happy, here's my colour scheme for the army, just as I promised yesterday.

Like I said, I take no credit for the creation of the template, only for the application of colour to it.
Untill next time, people, Kyle out.

Built and Ready to be Painted!

Okay, so I've got the first two of my Korpsmen done, and they're part of my first heavy stubber team, attached to They were quite a pain to assemble, but I did it in the end.... eventually.

All the pieces were there when I checked. All were in quite very good condition, and the detail was remarkable. I even ordered myself a Dark Arts Miniatures resin base for them from bitzbox.

This base was also in very good condition. 'Twas quite remarkable, the detail put onto this urban-themed base also. Looking over the bits once again, I did find one problem.

The heavy stubbers themselves were horribly deformed. But, a tub of hot soapy water and an hour and a half later....

... And I got nowhere in re-forming it. Oh well, atleast I took this time to wash the release agent from the rest of the models.

They looked noticably cleaner once cleaned, unlike my other forgeworld product, a Land Raider Achilles which I bought almost a year ago, which I could swear had the release agent pre-removed.

Onto the assembly. It went rather slowly, but it was built in the end.

I later fixed up some of the gaps on the model with the new liquid greenstuff, which is drying as I type. That would be all for today, and tomorrow I'll upload my desired colour scheme in a simple colour scheme thing I found online. I take no credit for designing it, only for putting all the colour into it. so, until next time, my friends.
