Some changes.

So, I've made a little change to the colour scheme, as I couldn't exactly figure out what colour my tertiary one actually was. I changed it to scorched brown, and I must say, it does look rather good. Both in theory and reality.

As you can see, ol' hallows eve isn't the best time for taking pictures, as it tends to get dark very quickly, and my camera hates darkness, inside or out.

The colour scheme is pretty simple; Codex Grey as the primary cloth colour, a mix of 1:1 Codex Grey and Chaos Black as the darker cloth colour, with a second layer of 1½:1 mix of Codex Grey to chaos black.

The metal armour is just a solid coat of Scorched Brown, and the backpack is an undercoat of Scorched Brown, followed by a layer of Snakebite Leather. For the eyes I did a layer of Enchanted Blue over a layer of Regal Blue.

For the gold, I have so far put down a layer of Shining Gold, but I am planning to put a wash of Ogryn Flesh over that, and then drybrush it with Shining Gold, then do a final highlight of Mithril Silver. I don't currently know how I'm going to paint the Heavy Stubber and the Las Rifles, but I do have a vague idea of how I'm going to paint the base. No spoilers ;).

Any metal that I'll have to paint will be a coat of Boltgun Metal, then a highlight of Mithril Silver, then a wash of Badab Black. You might be thinking: "What on earth? A highlight, THEN a wash? What is he doing?", but, believe me, it looks very realistic. Like a dull shine on old metal.

So, that's all for today, but, coming up, a look at my space marines and my dark eldar, and my thoughts on the new necrons. So, goodbye for now, but I will be back.
Oh, and, happy halloween.
